About
Alvin's treatment approach is that function should always be the first concern. He utilizes several different treatment techniques to help clients reach their full potential. As a proponent of active lifestyles and exercise, Alvin encourages his patients to incorporate as much activity as possible to help with their rehabilitation goals while maintaining an ongoing healthy approach to life.
Alvin completed two years of a Bachelor of Physical Education degree from Red Deer College and transferred to the University of Manitoba to complete his degree, graduating in 1988. From there he moved to Nova Scotia and was accepted into the Faculty of Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University, graduating in 1992. He has taken numerous post-graduate courses to broaden his treatment regimes and has a special interest in acupuncture, having taken a certification exam through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada.
Since graduating, Alvin has worked in Nova Scotia and Ontario, and is currently Clinic Director at Cobequid Physiotherapy in Truro, NS, working also as a physiotherapist in addition to his administrative duties. He loves to travel and has a passion for humanitarian causes. He describes his 2012 church mission trip to Africa as a life changing experience which has helped to maintain a proper balance and perspective of life back here in Canada.
Alvin is happily married to his wife of 25 years and has been blessed with four great kids. He enjoys spending time with friends and family as well as being active in his local church. He also tries to be as active as possible being an avid runner as well as enjoying many recreational sports including golf, hiking and camping in the summer. He also enjoys hockey and skiing in the winter months.
