Abeed graduated from both Simon Fraser University and the University of British Columbia in 2004, with a Bachelor of Kinesiology and a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy respectively.
Since graduation, Abeed has honed his skills in the assessment and treatment of patients with dizziness and balance disorders, concussions and other forms of traumatic brain injuries.
His passion for treating patients with dizziness, vertigo and balance disorders motivated him to seek further education in vestibular rehabilitation. To this effort, Abeed achieved an Advanced Competency Certification in vestibular rehabilitation from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA (2007) and Duke University School of Medicine in Durham NC (2009).
Abeed is a licensed healthcare professional, and through his extensive post-graduate training in concussion management, adherence to best practices, and sufficient number of concussion cases seen, he is also regarded as a clinical concussion specialist. He is also trained in delivering training on the "BrainPort" Balance device.
He has been featured on local radio shows, has had articles published in various subscriptions and has been fortunate to assess and treat a wide array of patients including members of the Vancouver Canucks and Vancouver Whitecaps FC organizations.
Abeed is a committed life-long learner, constantly immersing himself in literature and lectures which benefit his patients on a daily basis.
In Abeed's free time, he enjoys watching hockey (Go Canucks Go!) and playing all sorts of sports, particularly soccer which has always been a favorite pasttime of his. His love for soccer led Abeed to co-found a local soccer camp in Vancouver, BC, in 2002, dedicating himself to coachine youth, developing their soccer skills, and mentoring them on leadership skills and community involvement.
