Alana graduated from Dalhousie University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She then continued her studies at Dalhousie, obtaining a degree in physiotherapy in 2006.
Alana started her career in private practice orthopaedics before moving to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital to pursue her interest in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy. It was there that she developed skills to work with children/infants, critical illness, post-surgical, and chronically ill individuals.
Alana has taken interest in vestibular rehabilitation and has begun to treat individuals suffering from dizziness, vertigo, and imbalance. Alana has also been certified in Women’s Health Physiotherapy, treating a variety of conditions including incontinence and pelvic prolapse.
