Allison moved from Ontario to Halifax in 2015 to pursue a career in massage therapy. She has recently graduated from the 2200-hour program at the Canadian College of Massage & Hydrotherapy.
As a Registered Massage Therapist, Allison uses a therapeutic approach centered around the assessment and prevention of both acute and chronic injuries including TMJD, sports injuries and postural concerns. As part of her student clinic, Allison specialized in sports massage treating a variety of patient populations as well as massage for individuals with chronic pain and arthritis. Her typical treatments include myofascial work, stretching and joint mobilizations to meet her patient’s goals. She has also taken further certification including a contemporary cupping course.
Allison grew up playing competitive team sports and always had a passion for learning about the human body. She followed these interests and completed an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology (Honours) at Queen’s University, graduating in 2013. While pursuing this degree, she also acted as a student athletic therapist for the varsity women’s hockey team where she was responsible for the care and prevention of athletic injuries. She has additional experience working with other varsity sports on campus including lacrosse, volleyball and basketball.
Allison’s hobbies include reading, camping, cycling, ultimate Frisbee and travelling.
