Alyssa studied Advanced Clinical Massage Therapy at Makami College in September of 2018, where she obtained 3000 hours working as a student in order to become a registered massage therapist with the City of Edmonton. During her practicum, she got the chance to massage clients in order to gain proper feedback and knowledge in perfecting her massage techniques, those being: therapeutic, deep tissue, cupping, relaxation/Swedish, prenatal, lymphatic, hot stone, PNF stretching, isometric strengthening, and range of motion testing
Her main goal is to customize the massage to best fit your needs, while doing an assessment both on and off the table to get to the root of the problem. Alyssa also takes the time to educate her clients with what is going on in their body, and to either give corrective exercises/stretches or refer out to different therapies in order to get the clients to not only feel good after leaving; but to have them leave with the knowledge to keep the results lasting as long as possible.
Alyssa also has seven years of experience working with kids in a daycare-like setting at a gym and is comfortable massaging children/young adults of any age to help with any needs varying from growing pains to muscle soreness due to sports/activities.
