Ashley graduated from Dalhousie University with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2013, following completion of a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Saint Mary’s University in 2011. Ashley has worked primarily in private and community settings, with a focus on mental health, case management, ergonomics and vocational rehabilitation. Ashley is in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia, and holds memberships with both the Nova Scotia Society of Occupational Therapists and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists.
Ashley has continued her education with additional training in wheelchair assessment, return-to-work planning, transferable skills analysis, and job-site assessments. Ashley is certified as a Workwell functional capacity evaluation assessor, progressive gaal attainment program provider, and has received training in effective methods of evaluating essential cognitive elements and cognitive performance & function and effective methods of improving cognitive performance & functional productivity (cognitive rehab). In addition, Ashley has participated in concussion management and cognitive-behavioural therapy training to better address her client’s needs.
Ashley was inspired to become an occupational therapist at a very young age, thanks to her family’s encouragement, and loves what she does. Ashley enjoys working with individuals across the lifespan, and is dedicated to helping clients achieve their functional goals. Ashley believes a balance between work and leisure is essential to maintaining good health and wellness.
Ashley loves spending time with her family and friends, and enjoys exploring the beautiful province of Nova Scotia.
