After obtaining his degree in Kinesiology from Dalhousie University, Brian attended the University of Melbourne, obtaining his Doctorate in Physiotherapy in 2015.
During his time in Australia he has had the pleasure of working with a variety of patients ranging from your weekend warriors, running enthusiasts, sport populations, chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis, and also acute and chronic back pain. Through this he has gained a deep appreciation for the experience of injury and the individual experience of rehabilitation; something that is inherent in his treatment approach. His special interests include: Back Pain, Osteoarthritis, and Rotator Cuff Related Shoulder Pain.
He also has a deep passion for research and evidence-based practice and seeks to develop more and better approaches to integrate the evidence into treatment plans. He takes a special interest in helping patients navigate current information, educate about their injury, and ultimately to empower patients to become more confident in managing their injury. His philosophy has always been one where rehabilitation and lifestyle management is a team approach, and the client is a key member.
When not in the clinic, Brian enjoys playing music, hiking and backpacking, going to the gym and bouldering.
