Cecilia believes in Gabrielle Roth’s words “If you just set people in motion they’ll heal themselves.” Movement is a medicine for creating change in a person’s physical, emotional and mental states. Cecilia is passionate about helping people to improve their quality of life by comprehensive treatment leading to speedy recovery.
Cecilia graduated with Bachelor of Physiotherapy, from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (India), thereafter worked in a hospital and acute-care for just over two years. She obtained a Master of Science with honours (Merit) in Physiotherapy from Manchester Metropolitan University (U.K.). When she was studying for her Master's degree, she was happy to acquire the volunteering opportunity to assist with functional assessment for soccer players of Manchester United Football Academy, U.K.
She moved to Canada to practice Physiotherapy here. After obtaining her registration as a Physiotherapist in Canada, she has worked in different set-ups like community, retirement homes, home environments and private physiotherapy practices. Cecilia enjoys working with all age groups and different health conditions. She believes in providing one-on-one client/patient care.
In her practice, Cecilia uses a hands-on approach that combines manual therapy (Mulligan, Maitland and Kaltenborn mobilisation approaches, Muscles energy techniques), soft tissue release (Certified Functional Myofascial Practitioner and Certified in Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation), functional assessment, muscle testing and corrective care and exercise programing. She is highly trained to use acupuncture, dry needling, taping and various modalities and techniques when needed to achieve optimal result. Cecilia believes in advancing her knowledge and techniques to better help her clients/patients by enrolling herself in different courses. She has successfully completed Part A and B of Mechanical diagnosis and therapy through The Mckenzie Institute, Canada.
When not working, Cecilia spends time keeping herself active by working out, going on runs, reading and spending time with her friends. She enjoys kayaking and is looking forward to learning winter sports.
