About

Chad was born in Newfoundland but has lived in Nova Scotia since 1989. He is a Certified Athletic Therapist (retired) through the Canadian Athletic Therapists association, and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA. He also has a Bachelor of Physical Education degree with a major in Exercise Studies from Acadia University (the program is now titled: Kinesiology).

Chad started with Saint Mary's University in 1993 as a volunteer student therapist and took the helm as the Head Athletic Therapist in 1995. He ran the Athletic Therapy Varsity Medical Program until 2019, when he officially "retired" from Saint Mary's and joined the Lifemark team. Chad worked with other Athletic Therapists, Orthopaedic Surgeons, Sport Med Physicians and hundreds of volunteer student therapists over the years, hosting many National and Atlantic Championships in many sports (winning a few along the way).

Chad's most memorable events were winning the Vanier Cup Football Nationals in 2000 and the gold medal with the Men's Hockey Team at the FISU games in 2011 (Turin, Italy). Chad has also run strength programs for numerous varsity sports including Football and Hockey. Over his 30-year career Chad has taken numerous continuing education courses covering such topics as joint bracing, prophylactic taping techniques, osteoarthritis management, and numerous strength and conditioning seminars.

When not powerlifting or enjoying travel, Chad can be found taking leisurely walks with his wife and Border Terrier "Buffy" or relaxing and sipping a good scotch.
