Coleen helps clients achieve their health goals using a whole foods, evidence-based approach, with a special interest in mindfulness-based (MB) eating, which brings us back to the healthy eating behaviours we have had from birth. A student of Jon Kabat-Zinn’s Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program, she completed an MB-Eating training course through The Center For Mindful Eating (www.tcme.org). Her 14 years of working in the omega-3 industry has honed her expertise in translating complex nutrition science information into understandable and practical tools for her clients. While working as a registered dietitian in Calgary in the mid-90’s, Coleen discovered the benefits of yoga and was hooked. She became a Hatha vinyasa yoga instructor in 2008, through Therapeutic Approach Yoga Studio (TAYS) in Halifax. She has continued to increase her yoga knowledge through several teachers and disciplines, as well as from her students. Always an eager student, she will continue studying with TAYS to complete her 500-hour teacher training starting fall 2014. Coleen is eager to share with clients, the benefits of yoga and MB- approaches to healthy eating and living.
