Haslin Shanmuganathan graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Integrative Biology, followed by a Master's degree in Physical Therapy in 2008. Upon graduation, she started working in a multidisciplinary rehabilitation center where she treated a wide spectrum of patients with various conditions. With a strong belief in life-long learning, she went onto completing her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2011. Later, Haslin completed training in acupuncture and is a Certified Acupuncture Practitioner by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute (currently called Acupuncture Canada).
She is also a credentialed clinical instructor certified by the APTA. In addition, Haslin is a trained pelvic health therapist specializing in the treatment of urinary incontinence, pelvic girdle pain and various diagnosis related to both pelvic floor weakness and hypertonicity. She has a keen interest in prenatal and postnatal care.
Treatments in her clinical practice include personalized exercise program, joint mobilization techniques, myofascial release, modalities such as electrotherapy, ultrasound therapy, acupuncture, etc. In addition, she places a strong emphasis on educating patients on preventative care, postural correction/work duty modification. Haslin’s goal is to help each patient work towards their full potential in mobility and function and empower them to lead an active lifestyle through her evidence based practice.
