Haythem Ayoub was born in Khartoum, Sudan, but was raised in Ottawa. His intense love and passion for osteopathic medicine stems from his personal experience with muscle and joint stiffness. In 2008, Haythem underwent extensive open-heart surgery to correct his congenital heart defects. Post-surgery, he remained on bed rest for several weeks, which resulted in muscle atrophy and joint stiffness. As a result, Haythem lost his ability to walk, requiring him to undergo rigorous physiotherapy treatment in order to regain movement.
This experience inspired him to join the healthcare system as a practitioner who focused on physical health. He attended a joint program at Durham College in Health and Fitness Promotion and Ontario Tech University in kinesiology, in Oshawa. During that time, Haythem was referred to an osteopathic manual practitioner in Ottawa after experiencing intense back pain due to pes planus (flat feet). He noticed major changes after each session and got better after four treatments with the osteopath specialist.
Consequently, Haythem ventured out to learn more about Osteopathy from his practitioner, including what it was, how it could help people, and the philosophies behind manual Osteopathy. After extensive research, he decided to pursue osteopathic studies in a bid to become the best osteopath in Ottawa. In 2019, Haythem completed a year and a half of Fitness and Health Promotion and Kinesiology at Durham College. He then earned a degree in Osteopathy from the National Academy of Osteopathy in Toronto.
When he is not working, Haythem enjoys watching sports of all kinds. As a huge fan of everything sports, he plays basketball, soccer, and cycles in the summer. Haythem also appreciates the natural world and spends time in nature whenever possible.
Some of Haythem's qualifications include a Graduate Diploma in Osteopathy, ISSA Personal Trainer, and ISSA Nutritionist.
