D’Arcy was born in Toronto but moved to Calgary early in life. Academically, he pursued an active lifestyle in the outdoors becoming a lifeguard and swim instructor and earning diplomas in outdoor pursuits and aquatic administration. Later, while scheduled to start his third year of zoology at the University of Alberta, he transferred his major to physical therapy. This followed a summer of work and volunteering at a local physiotherapy clinic in Calgary where he was first exposed to the profession.
After graduating from the University of Alberta in 2001, D’Arcy worked as a physiotherapist and clinic director (in Edmonton) for five years. He completed his Certificate in Vestibular Rehabilitation in 2010 (Emory) and his ITPT concussion management certificate with ImPACT (Pittsburgh) in 2015. He continues to take courses locally and internationally to bolster his academic knowledge and skill. Today, D’Arcy works in Calgary at the Crowchild Twin Arena specializing in orthopedics, vestibular care, and concussion management.
When not at work, D’Arcy can either be found at the home depot (picking up supplies for his latest project) or camping with his family in the great outdoors. He also enjoys tennis, squash, and philosophical debate.
