In September 2005, James completed the Bachelor of Physical Education/Bachelor of Education Combined Degrees Program at the University of Alberta. His passion for the human body, coupled with his desire to educate and help others, led him to enter into this field. For almost eight years, he served as an educator for Northern Lights School Division No. 69 in Lac La Biche and Cold Lake, Alberta, where he taught at both the high school and middle school levels. However, James’ interest in the human body and his desire to better understand it never seemed to dissipate. In fact, if anything, it only grew stronger over the years. It is for this reason that he decided to pursue a Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy (MSc PT). James graduated with his MSc. PT with distinction from the University of Alberta in 2014. He believes that physiotherapy will allow him to fulfill his passion to continually learn more about the body while helping individuals. In the words of Aristotle, “Pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work.” James is still actively involved with the university’s Department of Physiotherapy, serving as a standardized patient for practical exams, interviewer for prospective MSc. PT students, and student representative for curriculum development. James also plans on becoming a clinical instructor for upcoming student physiotherapists. It is his intent to eventually pursue his doctorate after having gained experience in the field.
