About
Jeannette gained her physiotherapy training at the Glasgow Western, in Scotland in 1979. She then upgraded her Diploma to a BScPT at the U of A in Edmonton Alberta, and then completed a Masters in Health Science from Athabasca University. Throughout her career she has explored many different areas of practice, and continues to take courses to improve her skills.
Currently, Jeannette works with two distinct groups of clients, being passionate about both groups, striving to walk with them through their recovery. For the past 10 years she has been the program manager for the Amputee Program that offers injured workers, who have suffered limb loss, a team approach to their recovery. Jeannette took on a new challenge four years ago taking training in Vestibular Rehabilitation and is now providing treatment for clients who are suffering with Vestibular problems.
Some highlights during her career include: having the opportunity to volunteer in Haiti post-earthquake treating the injured, mentoring students during their practicums, managing to finish her Masters while working full time and raising her family, and attending amazing courses such as a prosthetic course at Northwestern in Chicago, the NOI conference in Adelaide Australia, and the Vestibular Rehabilitation course in Atlanta Georgia.
As well as being passionate about her work, Jeannette is fiercely passionate about her family and friends, who are top on her priority list to spend quality time with. Traveling comes high on the “to do” list and in her spare time she loves to be outdoors and will tackle any activity and sport you put in front of her.
