Jennifer joined Lifemark part-time this fall. She also runs her private practice out of two additional clinics. Jennifer has previously worked in a variety of roles as a counsellor, largely in post-secondary settings. Jennifer is excited to once again be working in a multidisciplinary setting as she enjoys working as a part of a team to provide well-rounded support to clients.
Jennifer has worked with clients aged 16+ who are experiencing a variety of struggles including stress, depression, anxiety, chronic pain, relationship issues, and body image difficulties. Jennifer’s approach is collaborative and holistic and she works most often from a person-centered, trauma-informed approach, with an emphasis on self-compassion. Jennifer’s personal experience has driven her passion for working with individuals with hearing loss (and other disabilities including chronic illness and pain), as well as their families.
Jennifer continues to further her learning in various fields and has received training to help clients develop assertiveness and coping skills, work through trauma, and cultivate self-acceptance and self-love. Jennifer also continue to engage in learning to support LGBTQ2S+ and BIPOC individuals.
Jennifer completed her undergraduate in Psychology at Vancouver Island University. In 2018, she graduated from Yorkville University with a Masters in Counselling Psychology. She is currently a registered counselling therapist candidate with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists and a Certified Canadian Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
