Joanne graduated from the University of Toronto in 2000 with a B.Sc. in Physical Therapy after completing degrees in Biology and Physical and Health Education at Queen's University. Most of Joanne's career has been spent in orthopedics treating a variety of complex neuromusculoskeletal conditions. She subscribes to a 'hands-on' approach to treatment along with prescriptive exercise and education to improve biomechanics, relieve pain and restore function.
A believer in continuous self-improvement, Joanne has continued her post-graduate education participating in numerous advanced orthopedic courses including manual therapy, myofascial release, neurokinetic therapy, Mulligan concept, and acupuncture. Joanne has specialized training in vestibular rehabilitation enabling her to assess and treat complex dizziness and balance impairments using the most up-to-date technology and techniques.
Joanne is a certified WorkWell functional capacity evaluator and has a special interest in occupational rehabilitation, long-term disability rehabilitation and work conditioning.
Joanne has worked in the Mississauga community for 16 years and has provided mentorship for many physical therapy students/interns from the University of Toronto and schools abroad. Joanne has been a dedicated provider to the community and the back bone of Lifemark City Centre team.
In her spare time, Joanne is an avid Blue Jays fan, enjoys playing softball and soccer, travel and spending time with family.
