Julie graduated from York University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology and Health Science. She graduated in 2003 from the University of Toronto with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. She is registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario, Independent Practice Certificate and is a member of the Canadian and Ontario Physiotherapy Associations.

Since then Julie has taken sevel courses, including Mulligan Upper Quadrant, WorkWell Functional Capacity Evaluation, Occupational Rehabilitation, Cancer Rehabilitation, as well as courses through the Advanced Physical Therapy Educational Institute, which include the Knee Complex (Part One), Cervical Spine (Part One), Acute Low Back Pain Seminar, the Shoulder Complex (Part One), and the Thoracic Spine (Part One and Two).
