About
Kate Shaw is a dedicated physiotherapist with extensive clinical and therapeutic experience. She graduated with distinction from the Prince of Wales School of Physiotherapy in London England, with a Diploma in Physiotherapy in 1979. She immigrated to Canada in 1981, initially working in the hospital setting, where she gained valuable experience working with inpatient and outpatient neuro rehab, burns, plastic surgery and outpatient orthopaedics.
Since 1989, Kate has worked in the private sector with expertise in outpatient orthopaedic conditions, musculoskeletal injuries, post surgical conditions and sports injuries. She has been an examiner for the practical component of the Physiotherapy Competency Examination and has taught the Therapeutic Skills component for the OT/PTA program at the St. Clair College Centre of the Arts.
Kate is passionate about the physiotherapy profession as well as volunteering. The highlight of her career was the privilege of volunteering as a Physiotherapist at the London 2012 Olympic Games, where she worked in the Physiotherapy Department of the Medical facility in the Olympic Village for two weeks. Kate strongly believes in giving back to your community and has been very involved in local volunteer activities as a 30-year resident of the Town of Tecumseh. She currently is a regular event volunteer for Transition to Betterness.
Kate enjoys being active and is a long-distance metric century cyclist, having recently completed several 100 km and 100 mile rides. She is a member of the Canadian and Ontario Physiotherapy Association.
