Kayla successfully completed a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta in 2013, and attained her Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Calgary in 2008. Since graduating, Kayla’s experience has included working in a multi-disciplinary private practice setting with a mixed case load of various orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions.
Kayla has continued to advance her orthopaedic skills through post-graduate courses, including her certification in anatomical acupuncture and biomedical dry needling. She has also completed the level 2 upper manual therapy course through the orthopaedic division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Other advanced manual therapy courses have included Active Release Technique, upper extremity, sacro-iliac and pelvic complex, Mulligan technique, and facial neuromuscular retraining.
Kayla has plans to continue her education and advance her skill set in manual therapy, sports-related rehab, and functional-based exercise prescription. Kayla enjoys working with all types of patients, and helping them reach their goals, whether it is to return to sport or helping patients walk after surgery. Kayla has always had a passion for promoting health and wellness, as well as encouraging others to lead an active lifestyle.
Outside of work, Kayla enjoys being outside with her family and participating in water sports, running, snowboarding, and rock climbing.
