About
Kylie graduated from Memorial University with a Bachelor of Physical Education and a Bachelor of Education 2017 and 2018 respectively. After a short time teaching, she went on to pursue a Master of Science in Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University, graduating in 2021. Kylie has a special interest in chronic pain, pediatrics and orthopedics as well as a passion for mental health. This interest grew throughout her Physiotherapy degree as she completed clinical placements in a specialized chronic pain treatment program in Newfoundland as well as a pediatric placement at the Janeway children's hospital.
Throughout her undergraduate degrees Kylie worked with various athletes as a student athletic trainer where she gained experience working with university level athletes. She also has completed various private practice placements throughout her degree and her time working with Lifemark as a student gaining her experience working with individuals who are recovering from workplace injury, and motor vehicle accidents.
Kylie is passionate about working with patients to achieve their personal goals through individualized treatment. She believes in considering a patients biopsychosocial factors when developing a treatment plan and then creating a multi-modal treatment plan for that specific patient. This includes education, manual therapy, exercise programs as well as and pain-relief modalities. Over the coming year she plans to continue taking courses to broaden her knowledge and skill set in a variety of areas including dry needling and concussion rehabilitation.
Kylie is originally from a small town in Newfoundland and Labrador and is very excited to be working here in Elmsdale Nova Scotia. In her free time Kylie enjoys writing, participating sports and playing music.
