Lauren is a 2011 graduate of the University of British Columbia's Master of Physiotherapy program and Bachelor of Human Kinetics program. While at UBC, she was short-listed for the Rhodes Scholarship. She is a former Team Canada track and field 400 metre hurdler and bronze medalist at the Canadian Track and Field Championships.
Lauren is a Certified Gunn IMS (CG IMS) practitioner and is also certified in Anatomical Acupuncture by Acupuncture Canada. She has post-graduate training in orthopaedic manual therapy, functional movement screening (FMS), selective functional movement assessment (SFMA), and vestibular rehabilitation (dizziness and balance assessment and management).
She is also part of a specialized group of physiotherapists in Canada with training that allows her to assess and treat men’s and women’s pelvic floor concerns, including pregnancy and post-partum, bowel and bladder incontinence, constipation, prolapse, and pelvic pain.
Lauren has experience on the Orthopaedic Trauma units at Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) and Lions Gate Hospital. She was a first-line physiotherapist following traumatic skiing, biking, and climbing accidents, as well as joint replacement surgeries. She has also worked on the Acute Spine and Intensive Care Units at VGH, where she facilitated rehabilitation following spinal surgeries and both acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
Outside of the clinic, you’ll find Lauren rock climbing, running, and cycling with her toddler in their cargo bike.
