Leanne grew up in Edmonton and attended the University of Alberta where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Master of Science in Physical Therapy. Her passion for Physical Therapy stems from pure curiosity about the human body and minor injuries through sports when she was young. As a result, Leanne values spending time to answer questions and educating patients about their injury and rehabilitation process. Her approach to treatment centers around helping patient reach their goals through exercises and manual therapy. She has certification as a sports first responder, in soft tissue release, and concussion management.
She is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.
Along with her position at Active Physio Works, Leanne works with the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital specializing in the geriatrics inpatient program. She has experience treating various musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease, Hip and knee fractures and replacements and osteoarthritis.
Outside of work, Leanne enjoys swimming, running, playing volleyball and soccer. In her formative years, she played basketball and swam competitively. In her spare time, Leanne volunteers with local community events, and has volunteered with the Steadward Centre working with children with disabilities.
