Matthew received his Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from McMaster University and his Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences (with a specialization in biology) from the University of Western Ontario. A strong believer in lifelong learning, Matthew is continually expanding his knowledge base and repertoire of clinical skills through a variety of post-graduate courses. His interests have lead him to complete training and certification in areas such as acupuncture, soft tissue release, manual therapy and patient care through renowned courses, including certification in the McMaster University Contemporary Medical Acupuncture program. Matthew’s practice involves a systematic approach to treatment. Through a clear understanding of various conditions and dysfunctions, imbalances and injuries are treated with a combination of joint and fascial mobilization, electro-acupuncture, specific exercise prescription and a number of modalities. Matthew believes that effective treatment involves the mediation of symptoms, restoration of natural function and preventing future injury. By aspiring to provide the best treatment possible, he enjoys ensuring clients are educated on the nature of their injuries, and providing proactive treatment plans to successfully mediate pain and dysfunction. Outside of work, Matthew remains active in his community, serving at his local church, while he stays physically active through participating in a variety of recreational sports including multiple softball leagues and weight training.
