Melanie graduated from University of Montreal in 2013 with a Master of Physiotherapy and worked mainly in a private clinic alongside a team of PTs, OTs, psychologists and exercise therapists using an interdisciplinary approach. During those four years, she gained experience working with people suffering from chronic pain and is well equipped to help others find tools to overcome their pain and enjoy a better quality of life.
Her focus in physiotherapy is currently myofascial structural therapy, which works deep into the body’s fascia system and helps manage pain, improve posture and increase efficiency in movement. She also completed her first level in McKenzie therapy for the lumbar spine, helping patients treat their own back with active movements.
Melanie was born in North Vancouver, but is French Canadian, having grown up in Montreal. After a ski trip taken at the age of 15 to Whistler, she decided she would one day return to live close to the mountains and took the plunge last summer.
Melanie has a passion for travel and has been to many different countries in South America and Europe, where she got to learn a third language, Spanish. She also enjoys many different sports. Growing up, she played soccer, and she now enjoys skiing, hiking, running half marathons and yoga. Living on the west coast, she wants to dip her toes into new activities like mountain biking and surfing.
