Michael graduated from Dalhousie University with a Master in Occupational Therapy in 2012 as well as a Bachelor of Kinesiology from Acadia University in 2010. Before joining the Lifemark team, Michael worked in the public health care system for four years in New Glasgow at the Aberdeen Regional Hospital. While working in the public sector, Michael worked to foster independence through the assessment of activities of daily living, wheelchair and other adaptive equipment prescription, hand therapy and assessment of the home environment.
Michael has furthered his education in functional capacity evaluations and provides ergonomic assessments, job coaching and job site analysis. Michael has always felt that a client-centered approach, allowing the client focus on their own strengths and attributes, is the most effective approach to goal attainment, whether the goal is to return to work or to be able to independently dress themselves after a stroke.
Michael firmly believes in a healthy work-life balance and enjoys spending his down time with friends and family, playing guitar, hiking, running and a number of sports including soccer, badminton, ultimate Frisbee and volleyball.
