Michelle worked as a kinesiologist for over three years before returning to school to pursue a Master of Physiotherapy at McGill University. She started her kinesiology career in personal training, alongside reputable trainers, before joining the interdisciplinary team at Lifemark Physiotherapy. She has also instructed yoga and Pilates for rehabilitation. Consequently, exercise prescription is her specialty.
Throughout her studies at McGill, Michelle knew she would return to the world of private physiotherapy, so she explored advanced manual therapy, chronic pain management, and pelvic floor rehabilitation. She immediately became certified in both manual therapy and pelvic health as a level one therapist, and continues to advance her training. She understands that the human body is a never-ending learning experience, and strongly believes in continuing education to expand her toolbox and enhance her practice.
Michelle educates her clients on the nature of their condition and how to start self-management from day one. She then uses her diverse experience in exercise prescription, along with joint mobilizations, soft-tissue techniques, and K-taping, to provide tailored treatment sessions. Using a multidimensional approach, she strives to reduce patient symptoms, improve patient function, and enhance patient quality of life.
She is an advocate for a healthy and active lifestyle, and enjoys yoga and many outdoor activities.
