Paul has an expansive medical background in both clinical practice and research. As an orthopaedic surgeon in China, he also received his Ph.D. in 1992.

His post-doctoral research and clinical fellowship were completed in the Department of Orthopedics at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland from 1993 to 1996.

Upon arrival in Canada, he conducted further post-doctoral research in the Trauma Research Program at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto from 1996 to 1999.

From his clinical research, Paul has numerous publications in the fields of osteoarthritis, osteoporosis and traumatic injury.

Paul obtained his physiotherapy degree at McMaster University in 2001 and has been working as a clinician since then As a registered physiotherapist, he currently works at Markham Physiotherapy Clinic, Unionville office, and part-time in the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at Sunnybrook Hospital.

Paul has specialized his physiotherapy practice in orthopedics and sports injuries. He is proficient in the management and rehabilitation of MVA [car accident] patients. In addition, he also practices acupuncture because of his education of Chinese Traditional Health Sciences.

Paul is very active, and in his spare time enjoys jogging, playing soccer and other sports. Paul speaks English and Mandarin.
