Human body is an engineering marvel. The ability to work with it while helping people achieve their movement and functional goals is a privilege only a health professional can have, and I am honoured to be one. Being a physiotherapist has been an immensely rewarding experience for me.
With my treatment techniques grounded in manual physical therapy, I also like to spend one-on-one time with my patients to do a thorough assessment as only then the treatment can have a successful outcome. The manual therapy techniques used in my treatment sessions primarily involve joint mobilizations, manipulation, muscle energy and active stretching techniques. To complement manual therapy I also like to design active Individualized exercise plan for my patients and incorporate the use of therapeutic taping. I have special interest in neuro-musculoskeletal injuries and post-surgical rehab.
From an education standpoint, I completed my Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from India in 2002 and thereon achieved my Masters's degree in Biomechanics and Movement Science at the University of Delaware, USA in 2006. I have done post-professional courses in orthopaedic manual physiotherapy, Mulligan Concept, McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment. I also have published research in international peer-reviewed journals and believe in providing healthcare based on latest scientific research. I have been a runner, a certified aerobics instructor and a parkour enthusiast.
With my educational endeavours I am currently working towards obtaining a Diploma in Advanced Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy through Orthopaedic Division of Canadian Physiotherapy Association, and a Medical Acupuncture certification from McMaster University.
