Sydney Lata was born in Kansas City, Kansas and although there is no place like home, her family moved to Calgary, AB where she was raised. Growing up, she was an avid competitive swimmer competing in local and national competitions. Sydney attended Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, BC where she continued competing at the varsity level as a member of the NCAA Division II Women’s Swimming and Diving team and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology.
In the community, Sydney worked and volunteered with a variety of populations ranging from youth athletes to children with developmental disorders. She is successfully certified to utilize the Functional Movement Screen to assess movement patterns which are key to normal function and identify functional limitations and asymmetries. Sydney began working at Lifemark in 2015 and is a primary therapist in the Return-to-Work Program at the Father David Bauer location where she is committed to help people return to their pre-injury levels of function both at work and in their personal lives.
