Tia has a Bachelor of Science in Psycholgy from the University of Victoria and a Master of Physical Therapy from UBC.
She loves her work; she loves helping people and problem solving. Her assessments are thorough in order to find the root cause of her client's injuries in order treat them effectively.
Continuing post-graduate education has been a priority. In 2013 she completed the intermediate manual therapy levels and is qualified to manipulate/mobilize joints that are fixated. Tia also does IMS or dry needling to release taught muscle bands that are often responsible for headaches, joint irritation and pain. She implements Kinesiotape or athletic taping, if necessary, post sprain or strain injuries or for postural support.
Tia has knowledge and expertise in treating and assessing a variety of injuries including over-use, post-op rehab and TMJ dysfunction. She specializes in the treatment and prevention of low back pain and shoulder injuries and can develop individualized exercise programs.
Tia is passionate about treating athletes, children and older adults. As a former competitive gymnast, soccer and rugby player, she understands the importance of maintaining a physically strong, flexible, and balanced body. Tia has volunteered for various sporting teams over the years including the UBC women's rugby team, the men's Wolf Pack hockey team in North Vancouver and the Richmond Lacrosse Jr. B team and some local running events including the Sun Run and 5 Peaks.
In her spare time, she enjoys running, biking, hiking, SUPing, doing yoga, playing in the sun and laughing.
