About

Tyson graduated from UBC's Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) program following completion of an Honour’s Degree in Biomedical Studies at the University of Northern BC in Prince George. Of note, Tyson received an award for graduating the MPT program as the top student in his manual therapy / orthopaedic courses.

Although sports and orthopaedics are Tyson’s primary interests, he comes from a diverse background, having spent time practicing in neurology (stroke, spinal cord injury, MS, etc.) and acute hospital settings. This wide range of experience allows Tyson to assess and treat his client’s more holistically, as he is able to integrate the orthopaedic, neurological and medical knowledge he has accumulated.

Some of Tyson’s post-graduate qualifications include the Mulligan mobilization techniques, orthopaedic level one, and blood flow restriction, with more coming soon. Furthermore, having done scientific research himself, Tyson utilizes up-to-date, evidence-based treatment approaches with all of his clients.

Soon after moving to Vancouver for the MPT program, Tyson fell in love with the beauty and endless adventure of the coast mountains, leading him to relocate to Squamish for his dream lifestyle. Tyson spends all his spare time hiking, climbing, skiing, running and mountain biking. Participation in these activities allows Tyson to constantly study and reflect upon human movement and how to refine movement patterns to promote efficiency and injury resistance in the mountains and in daily life.
