Lisa Balkarran completed her post-graduate Advanced Diploma of Health Sciences in Chiropody at The Michener Institute of Education at UHN. She also graduated from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) with a Bachelor’s of Health Sciences Degree majoring in Kinesiology, with a specialization in Exercise Science.

She always had a natural pull towards health care, and helping others. Her background in Kinesiology was very rewarding and taught her the life lesson that exercise is medicine. Furthermore, her background in Podiatric Medicine solidified the great importance of foot health for all ages, and she values how important the feet are in maintaining the best quality of life. Lisa is very caring and personable. She shows great empathy and compassion towards her patients and colleagues alike.

She gained clinical experience over the years at Rexdale Community Health Centre, Newmarket Foot Centre, Toronto Grace Health Centre, TAIBU Community Health Centre, Michener Chiropody Clinic, East End Community Health Centre, and Flemingdon Health Centre. She also volunteered for a couple of years in various departments within Lakeridge Health Hospital.
