Austin is a Physiotherapy Resident who completed his Master of Science in Physiotherapy (with distinction) at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland where he was named a Saltire Scholar by the Scottish Government. While studying in Scotland, Austin completed clinical placements across the country in the community setting, orthopaedics, stroke rehabilitation, and cardiorespiratory care in the intensive care unit (ICU).
His approach to Physiotherapy focuses on both collaboration and patient-centred care. Austin will work with you to establish your goals for rehabilitation and to develop a collaborative plan (with your goals at the centre of the plan) to provide you with strategies to manage your pain, incorporate more movement into your life, and to facilitate a return to the things you love – whatever that looks like to you!
Austin is a firm believer of lifelong learning and most recently completed a course to improve his knowledge in Hip and Lateral Buttock pain from Dr. Alison Grimaldi. He is interested in pursuing further courses in strength and conditioning, concussion management, and communication – as it is the most important skill of all.
Outside of work, Austin enjoys both playing and refereeing basketball, learning guitar, travelling, watching F1, and trying to be the next Canadian to appear on CBS Survivor!
