About

Kim graduated from the University of Alberta with an Education Degree in 1982. He is a recent retiree after a rewarding 35-year career with Edmonton Catholic Schools. He has experience teaching elementary, junior high, and high school students, including the role of school counsellor and administrator. Having taught students at all three levels of education, Elementary, Junior High, and High School, he became very interested in the role of school counsellor. In 1988, he earned a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Oregon. He served in a leadership capacity for twenty-seven of his thirty-five-year career with Edmonton Catholic Schools.

Upon retirement in 2020, Kim began a second career to fulfill his lifelong dream of practicing Psychology and successfully completed a nine course post-Master’s program. Drawing from many past experiences working with staff, parents and many “at-risk” students, he is excited to embark on this new journey. His experience includes working with individuals, couples, families, and children, in both clinical and school settings. As well, Kim works extensively with Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) clients.

Kim has always had a keen interest in sports, fitness, and music. He competed nationally and internationally as an elite swimmer and water polo player. He has played music semi-professionally in various dance bands and jazz bands over the last 45 years and continues to play in a jazz duo with his son Jarret.

Kim brings a wealth of experience to his psychology practice as a therapist and committed family man!
