About

Barb graduated from University of Guelph with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Human Kinectics and is a Registered Kinesiologist. She has 35 years of clinical experience in rehabilitation both in the private and public sectors. She is also a Certified Exercise Physiologist with CSEP and has achieved additional certifications in aquatic rehabilitation, osteoporosis training and urban poling. She has had experience with many groups of clients involved in workplace, motor vehicle and everyday injuries.

Currently, Barb works in a multidisciplinary clinic setting (Lifemark Health Group) but previously consulted for the City of Cambridge, to develop community-based exercise programs for clients with neuromuscular conditions and mobility issues. Her rehabilitation specialty is geared towards balance, mobility and falls prevention training using NeuroGym equipment.

Barb’s clinical work focuses on the areas of chronic disease management related to diabetes, cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis and appropriate exercise prescription for her clients. She has clients with a variety of neuromuscular conditions such as stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy and brain injury in both the clinic and community-based settings. Barb is an active member of the Ontario Kinesiology Association and enjoys updating her clinical knowledge with ongoing seminars and learning opportunities.
