Victoria Barnes
About
Victoria is a recent graduate from McMaster University who obtained her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy, after completing her Bachelor of Science in Medical Sciences at Brock University in 2023. Throughout her physiotherapy training, she gained experience working with a variety of patient populations, including athletes both on and off the court, post-operative and general musculoskeletal patients, children, and individuals recovering from spinal cord injuries. One of her clinical placements was at Lifemark Fonthill, where she had the opportunity to learn directly from the team and connect with the community she is now proud to serve.
Her treatment philosophy centers on collaboration and empowerment. Victoria values creating a supportive environment where patients feel heard and included in their care. She emphasizes education and self-management strategies as key components of rehabilitation, aiming to give her patients the confidence and tools to take an active role in their recovery. She combines functional exercise with individualized approaches to best meet the needs of each person she works with.
Victoria also has a strong interest in continuing education and looks forward to pursuing further training in areas such as pelvic health and advancing her manual therapy techniques. She is excited to continue building her skills as a physiotherapy resident while contributing to a team that shares her commitment to patient-centered care.
Outside of the clinic, Victoria enjoys staying active by coaching youth volleyball with her dad and sister, and exploring the outdoors year-round. She also values spending quality time with family and friends, and she has a particular soft spot for chocolate, or any sweet treat.
