Manual therapy
Manual therapy refers to the use of the hands to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal disorders. Manual therapy can help you recover from symptoms of arthritis, whiplash, TMJ, sciatica and sport injuries, among many other conditions.
Manual therapy can help relieve pain and improve function. It includes treatments such as myofascial release, muscle energy work and joint manipulation.
In Canada, physiotherapists receive post-graduate training in manual therapy through the Canadian Physiotherapy Orthopaedic Division. The FCAMPT designation is given to physiotherapists who have completed the training and achieved an internationally recognized level of competency in manual and manipulative therapy.
Our manual therapists will develop a comprehensive and customized treatment plan best suited for your needs and goals. This plan may include manual therapy techniques, along with rehabilitative advice and therapeutic exercise.
