Corrina Murrin graduated from Dalhousie University in 1994 after completing a Bachelor of Science degree with honours in Occupational Therapy. She has been practicing as an Occupational Therapist since that time, joining the FIT For Work team in 1996 and the Lifemark team in 2019.
She has been managing the day to day operations of an injury management clinic providing a variety of services to many local and nationally based customers including corporate, long term disability insurers and worker’s compensation boards. This has enabled her to gain extensive experience in occupational medical assessments and rehabilitation in a multidisciplinary environment. She has a strong interest in Vocational Rehabilitation and Assessment with a lot of experience in functional assessment for WorkplaceNL, insurers and legal referrals. Through these assessments, she has been able to determine return to work potential and identify barriers to recovery, as well as provide recommendations to referral agents.
She became certified as a Return to Work Coordinator through NIDMAR in 2004, enabling her to gain experience in Disability Case Management and to assist with facilitating return to work connection and returning clients to a level of capacity. She has a number of certifications that provides her with the ability to complete occupational health screening and pre-employment testing. She also received training in psychosocial intervention, ergonomic assessment, and cognitive assessments. She enjoys working with clients and discovering strategies to facilitate independence in their everyday activity but also optimizing their function through addressing physical, psychosocial or cognitive barriers.
She will avail of continuing education opportunities to broaden her abilities as a therapist.
