Specialty program: Mental Health
What are mental health services?
Lifemark’s mental health services help those struggling with their mental health and wellbeing and can reduce or remove its impact on daily life and the ability to function. Mental health services are offered in an atmosphere of compassionate care, dignity, and respect, incorporating physical, emotional, and mental components of health to help restore both body and mind.
Trained interdisciplinary professionals work collaboratively to deliver optimal care, which may include occupational therapists, clinical counsellors/counseling therapists, social workers, psychotherapists, and psychologists.
Mental health symptoms and issues which can be treated include: anxiety, stress, depression, post-traumatic stress, and persistent pain.
How can mental health services help me?
We can help with your recovery journey using individualized mental health care plans. Treatment plans are designed to help empower you to overcome barriers to improve your mental wellbeing.
Lifemark professionals will work closely with you to address and overcome certain thinking patterns, individual thoughts, feelings, or behaviours that may be negatively affecting your social functioning, relationships, and quality of life.
Addressing key issues in a safe, supportive manner can help you better cope with the stresses of life, be more productive, and better enjoy the activities of daily life.
How does it work?
A Lifemark mental health professional will conduct an individualized assessment and then develop a treatment plan designed to meet your unique needs and achieve your goals.
Appropriate treatment techniques will be selected to assist you and guide you in your recovery, which may include strategies to address areas of difficulty as well as ways to implement these strategies into daily life. Services may include education, group and individual counseling, psychological and social rehabilitation, and return to work planning or support.
When can I expect to see results?
Timing of results is dependent on the challenges you face and your goals. Our mental health professionals will design short-term, intermediate term and long-term goals with you so you can see progression along the treatment path.
How are mental health services delivered?
Mental health services can be delivered virtually or in-person depending on your needs and geographic area. Mental health care delivered via virtual care or a combination of in-person and virtual care is highly effective and convenient, and can support your recovery goals by offering treatment flexibility based on your comfort level.
