Brian joined the Lifemark team in 2006. A native to Dartmouth, Brian earned his Diploma in Massage Therapy from ICT Northumberland College in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2001. Prior to joining the Lifemark team, he owned and operated his own massage practice. Apart from his Massage Therapy work, Brian is also highly involved in the sport of swim. He was the Head Coach of the Shearwater Bluefins for 7 years and currently the Senior coach with the Halifax Trojans. He sits on many committees as the President of the Nova Scotia Swim Coaches Association. He has also volunteered much of his time to the Canada Games Swim Team in 2005 and 2009 and was the 2013 Head Coach. Brian has also represented Canada as a massage therapist at the ’10 & ’12 Jr Pan Pacs, ’11 Fina Jr World Champs, ’13 FISU World University Games and “12 & ’14 Fina World SC Champs. Constantly looking to excel both as a Massage Therapist and Coach, Brian has taken many courses which has taken him to a new level of understanding of the human body. With courses in myofascial release (Barnes MFR, Fascial Stretch Therapy), postural correction (Neuromuscular Integration and Structural Alignment) and Prof. Dr. Rocabado’s seminar on TMJD, coupled with a certificate in Life Coaching, Brian uses a full body approach incorporating his bio-mechanical background and postural analysis to help determine the source of the patients’ problems. With his techniques based heavily in myofascial release, he has had great success in treating scar tissue related conditions and chronic pain.
