About

Charlie graduated with a Master of Physical Therapy and attained his Bachelor in Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia. He continually takes post-degree courses to improve his manual therapy and assessment skills, and has been certified to treat and assess running related injuries.

Apart from working at Lifemark, Charlie also treats at other clinics in Vancouver including the student-led clinic run by the UBC Physical Therapy Department. At UBC, Charlie supervises and mentors physio students from all across Canada on their practicums. He also works with a diverse caseload including neurological pathologies and people with developmental conditions. Charlie has experience treating clients on ICBC/ Worksafe claims, as well as clients dealing with chronic and acute injuries. He is also developing a strong interest in treating shoulder pathologies.

Charlie is a lifelong athlete and enjoys playing a variety of different sports including rugby, soccer, and combat sports. He also served two years in the Singapore Armed Forces as an officer in the military as part of his conscription duties. Throughout his journey in sports and in the military, Charlie has experienced many injuries and saw the importance of exceptional Physical Therapy and the impact it had on improving overall function and outlook. Charlie believes in forming his practice around the latest evidence and research. With a focus on client education, hands-on manual therapy, and exercise rehab, he aims to empower his clients to take control of their own rehab journey.

Outside of the clinic, Charlie is a certified Krav Maga (self-defence) instructor and enjoys almost any sport. Currently, he is dabbling in weight training, running, soccer, and Muay Thai. Charlie also loves skiing, hiking, and playing golf.
