Jenessa Schafer
About
Jenessa has been with Lifemark since 2013. She graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Master of Physical Therapy in 2013, after completing a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2010. She has also worked as a personal trainer, supporting individuals of all ages.
An active person herself, Jenessa has played many sports throughout her life, with hockey being her main passion. She was part of the silver medal-winning team at the Senior Women’s National Invitational Championships in 2007 and helped win the ASHL National Championships in 2026. She continues to play hockey and is a proud, sometimes tested, Edmonton Oilers fan.
Her active lifestyle has shaped her interest in orthopaedics and sports physiotherapy for athletes of all skill levels. She also works in seniors’ health and enjoys supporting patients of all ages as they work toward improving mobility, function, and independence.
Jenessa recently received a certificate of completion for Phlebotomy Fitter Training, allowing her to fit and measure custom compression stockings. Compression stockings can help support activity, standing tolerance, and walking tolerance for people with swelling or varicose veins.
She strives to encourage individuality throughout recovery while providing hands-on care, practical support, and a lighthearted approach that helps patients feel comfortable along the way.
