About

Jessica Ruckstuhl is a Registered Occupational Therapist with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO). With a master's degree in occupational therapy from McMaster University and a bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Brock University, she has worked in a variety of settings, providing care to diverse patient populations. Jessica has experience working with adults and older adults in community, home care, emergency department, and inpatient and outpatient units at hospitals.

Jessica's recent clinical experience has been focused on helping individuals with persistent pain. She has worked as a team lead at an interdisciplinary persistent pain clinic in Nova Scotia for six years, where she honed her foundational skills in persistent pain management. Her passion for persistent pain management grew in this role as she discovered the complexity of pain and how it affects every aspect of one's life. She believes in taking a whole-person approach (biological, psychological, and social) to treat persistent pain with a best practice model. Jessica is dedicated to working with individuals with persistent pain to collaborate with them on their journey towards pain management, providing empathy, validation, education on pain science, and customized treatment plans to help them achieve their goals. Additionally, she can help clients in areas such as home safety, mobility devices, falls prevention, memory strategies, sleep hygiene, communication strategies, energy conservation, pacing, goal setting, and intimacy.
