Tyler Gamblin
About
Tyler graduated from the University of Alberta with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy degree in 2012. Prior to this, he completed his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with distinction from the University of Alberta in 2010. Since his graduation, Tyler has worked with Active Physio Works and continues to have a vested interest in orthopedic care and his clients.
He believes in a direct approach to health care including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and patient education. He also believes that evidence for treatment is always evolving and using it is essential for patient care. Focusing on a rehabilitation program that best fits an individual's or family's needs and lifestyle is both his goal and essentially what he believes to be the most meaningful approach to therapy.
Tyler is an orthopedic manual therapist, movement specialist and has been certified by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute in medical acupuncture.
Tyler is a certified Complete Concussion Management provider. Tyler believes that concussion is highly mismanaged and that CCMI certified individuals provide leading edge concussion assessment, treatment and baseline testing. This is important for the safety of our athletes and even the general population. This certification also compliments his prior education and certification in Vestibular Rehabilitation.
Outside of clinic, Tyler sees community involvement as an essential component to being a competent practitioner. Tyler is the Captain of the Active Physio Works - Team Rehab, a group of nearly 50 individuals on the MS Society Bike Ride, raising over $250,000 so far, towards Canada's MS Society each year, and riding in Alberta's largest MS bike ride.
Along with this, Tyler enjoys volunteering wherever possible and looks forward to continuing to help support our communities in the future.
Growing up in the Rocky Mountains, Tyler has had the opportunity to participate in many recreational activities. His passions are ultrarunning, triathlon, basketball and spending time with his family.
