Occupational Therapist

About

Andrew Joined the FIT For Work Team in May 2022 as an Occupational Therapist. He completed a Master of Science Degree from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2017, as well as a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2014. Since finishing his Occupational Therapy degree, Andrew has gained experience working with patients in an acute hospital setting, as well as outpatient hand therapy rehab. This allowed him the opportunity to work with varying populations with a wide range of comorbidities, as well as many people experiencing chronic pain, mental health issues, stroke and difficulty functioning following an injury. Additionally, he also had the opportunity to work with clients following motor vehicle collisions (MVC) in Ontario, allowing him to build on his experience with home assessments, various aids and adaptations, compensatory strategies and pain management.

Since starting with FIT For Work, Andrew has completed training for, and gained experience in Functional Capacity Evaluation assessments, ergonomic assessments, pre-employment testing and Traumatic Psychological Injury (TPI). Andrew enjoys working closely with clients to collaboratively identify their goals and work together to achieve these. Andrew hopes to use his time with FIT For Work to continue to develop his skills to help provide the best treatment for his clients.
