Carly Ronahan
About
Carly recently joined the Lifemark team in July 2025 as a Provisional Occupational Therapist. Originating from Halifax, NS, Carly has attended Dalhousie University for both her undergraduate and graduate degrees. She first graduated in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science (Medical Sciences) and then in 2025 with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. She is a member of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists and has maintained good standing with the Nova Scotia Occupational Therapy Regulator.
Before becoming an Occupational Therapist, Carly worked closely with adults with intellectual disabilities, assisting them in completing their everyday activities such as self-care, productivity, and recreation. Carly has worked with a variety of people, which has given her a good perspective on the individuality of people, such as how interests and goals may vary from person to person. Carly continues to have a passion for working with adults with intellectual disabilities, encouraging and building increased independence in their activities of daily living.
Throughout Occupational Therapy schooling, Carly gained experience with inpatient adult acute care, outpatient pediatrics, and mental health counselling, as well as shadowing opportunities in hand therapy and community care. She was also a member of multiple specialized teams, including pressure injury management and stroke rehabilitation. From these experiences, Carly has built a strong interest and understanding of mindfulness practices, sensory processing disorders, ADHD management, stroke rehabilitation, and cognitive testing.
Carly has completed continuing education in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Home Modifications, Pressure Injury Management, and Falls Prevention. Carly has made a commitment to lifelong learning. She plans to continuously build her knowledge as an Occupational Therapist to ensure the best care for her clients and the continued growth of her profession.
