Liam Corrigan
About
Liam’s journey in physical rehabilitation began in 2011. With a BSc Hons. in Human Kinetics (2010) and a MSc in Human Kinetics - Biomechanics (2012) from the University of Ottawa, he initially worked as a Registered Kinesiologist. It was in this role that Liam cultivated a passion for ergonomic workplace assessments, functional capacity evaluations, orthotics and bracing, taping, biomechanical gait analysis, and rehabilitative exercises for various musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.
In 2016, Liam earned his MSc in Physiotherapy from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland, where he gained valuable insights into healthcare systems outside of Canada. Upon returning home, Liam applied his skills in both private and public healthcare settings, with a strong focus on the veteran population, before stepping into the role of Clinic Director at Lifemark. His practice includes training in acupuncture and an emphasis on patient-centered rehabilitation, where he prioritizes exercise and empowers patients to take control of their recovery.
During his postgraduate studies, Liam presented his research at the International Society of Biomechanics in Sport (ISBS) conference in Melbourne, Australia (2012). His work on muscle activation of the trunk and lower limb during unilateral load carriage was later published in Research in Sports Medicine (2014) and the Routledge Handbook of Ergonomics in Sports and Exercise (2014). In 2014, Liam began his teaching career at Algonquin College, instructing courses in Biology and Chemistry across both the Academic Upgrading and post-secondary programs.
While Liam is proud of his professional and academic accomplishments, he finds his greatest joy in sports and physical activity. He values the friendships, life skills, and physical benefits gained through sports, a passion he and his wife share with their three children through volunteer coaching, providing sports first-aid (2022, Ontario Games), training, and participation.
