Our philosophy

Lifemark Physiotherapy Max Bell is one of the first Lifemark clinics established in Calgary. Max Bell has experienced therapists who will provide you with a variety of treatment techniques and rehabilitation programs. Patients will receive one-on-one patient care and will be provided individualized treament approaches and plans.

The clinic

Lifemark Physiotherapy Max Bell is located in the Max Bell Arena at Deerfoot and Barlow Trail. You cannot miss the red and yellow lego building when driving on Deerfoot. We are located on the second floor of the building. We have recently had renovations in our clinic and the area is very spacious and bright. Our clinic is surrounded by windows that offer an amazing view of downtown Calgary and mountains.

More about our services

Max Bell has experienced therapists who have worked at this location for over 15 years. Many of these therapists have specialties and therefore the clinic is able to offer many specialized services.

As physical therapists we are trained in managing both acute and chronic pain and issues. Each patient will have a detailed assessment and a treatment plan is developed based on the assessment and goals of each patient.

Areas of Special Interest

Shoulder Injuries

At Max Bell we have a special interest in shoulders as we work directly with 5 of the shoulder surgeons in Calgary. Whether it is an acute rotator cuff tear, shoulder dislolcations or an aging chronic rotator cuff we have very experienced therapists to assist in managing this injury.

Pelvic Health

Christine Hamill is our Pelvic Health therapist who will spend one on one sessions in a private setting to help assist with issues including bladder, bowel, pelvic pain, prolapse, pre and post natal care and sexual function.

Vestibular Therapist

Ellen Hurd is our very experienced Vestibular therapist who will be able to assist with episodes of dizziness and balance disorders. Ellen is also trained to treat symptoms related to concussion.

Orthotics

We have an onsite Orthotist who specializes in custom orthotics.

Our custom orthotics (orthopedic insoles) are developed with assessment of your lower extremities, gait analysis, and footwear evaluation, and can be used to relieve pain in the foot, knee, leg, and low back. Orthotics can also treat orthopaedic injuries, re-align anatomical structures.

Acupuncture, Biomedical Needling, Intramuscular Stimulation

One of the most powerful passive modalites is acupuncture and deep needling. We have therapists trained in acupuncture and deep needling techniques including biomedical needling and IMS.

Funders

Our clinic is funded through Alberta Health Services for post-surgical, post-fracture and low income. We also have provider contracts for WCB, RCMP and MVA insurance companies.

Massage Therapy

Our experienced massage therapists are trained to provide both relaxation massage as well as deep therapeutic massage. Massage therapy can help to reduce stress and assist with relaxation. The deep therapeautic massage will assist with persistent tight trigger points and myofascial pain.
