About

Dr. Chuck Dauphinee was born and raised in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and was always interested in mechanics and how things worked. This interest led him to excel in physics and math. Dr. Dauphinee eventually completed a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Biomechanics and Biomedical Engineering. With a new understanding of the human body as a “machine”, Dr. Dauphinee then continued his journey to understand the best ways to “bullet proof” his own body through becoming a personal trainer. His passion for preserving the body’s soft tissues and joints led him to graduate from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in 2009.

While Dr. Dauphinee was pursuing his science-based education, he also became a leader in his own community. He always had a leadership role in high school and university student councils but now uses his role as a chiropractor to help lead in community sporting events. Dr. Dauphinee really feels he grew as a chiropractor in the Halifax Area. He has had the opportunity to train under and work along side some of the top chiropractors, athletic therapists, physiotherapists, massage therapists, osteopaths and sports medical doctors in Nova Scotia. He is very grateful for all those experiences.

Currently, Dr. Dauphinee was appointed as the Lead Chiropractor for the 2021 IIHF Women’s World Hockey Championship and is Co-Lead Medical for the upcoming 2021 Sidney Crosby Hockey School. He is also part of the sports medicine team for the Saint Mary’s University Football and Hockey teams. From working as a chiropractor in high level sports in the city he saw a need for more diversity in sports. He founded the first LGBTQ2S+ and Straight Allies Hockey team in Atlantic Canada (the Halifax Mussels) and was appointed as a member of the Hockey Nova Scotia Diversity and Inclusivity Task Force to create a safer space for athletes in sport. He is also a mentor to other physiotherapists and chiropractors and is an instructor for Lifemark’s Orthopaedic Development sessions.

Dr. Dauphinee has several skills outside of advanced manipulation. He is a Functional Range Release (FR®) practitioner which is an advanced and comprehensive system of musculoskeletal assessment, treatment all done by hand that helps to remold tissue and obtain greater ranges of motion. It is all based by scientific principles and is utilized by the leading manual medical practitioners and therapists around the world including the UFC, NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL. He also is a Functional Range Conditioning (FRC®) mobility specialist and performs instrument assisted soft tissue techniques, athletic taping, bracing and kinesiotaping.

Dr. Chuck Dauphinee loves his job as a chiropractor and considers himself a “body engineer”. Dr. Dauphinee understands the importance of communication across all disciplines and how to get the best integrative health plan for your body. He loves to take inventory of all his athletes and patients' joints and to see how to improve their capacity for each body’s demand. He prides himself on helping to motivate and guide his patients on the best path to health and fitness. Outside of the hockey rinks and football fields you will find Dr. Dauphinee trying out the latest in exercise classes, playing beach volleyball or lifting weights in the gym.
